Hi,
My friend is facing same type of issue. He entered the US with company A with visa expiring in Jul 2006.
In Nov. 2005 he moved to company B and his I-94 was extened till Oct. 2007 (New h1 expiry date). He went to India in Dec. 2006 and entered with old visa stamp. He got new I-94 with old date i.e. Jul 2006.
Now he wants to extend his H1 and I-94 is expired. Will this create any issue? Hase anybody faced this type of issue before? All replies will be appreciated.

I am considering switching my employer.
Currently I have I-140 and labor for GC approved in 2006.
Filed I-485 in July 2007.
My current H-1B expires on December 2009. (9 years on H-1B.... ya that long)
Based on my AC-21 portability after 180 days of I-140 approval, if I move to a new employer and file H-1B transfer, will I get default approval of only upto December 2009, or can I get 3-year extension based on my I-140 approval?
Appreciate your answers in advance.

You are more than welcome to do the stamping in any country... just that if your name comes under TAL or any other check, you would end up enjoying that country for longer than you had intended originally...
I have been to Canada twice for stamping - no issues, just realized that they have become more strict in evaluating candidates - one friend of mine enjoyed Toronto for about 1.5 months (originally intended for 2 days).
So talk to your lawyers and be safe and comfortable :)
As said, you can go any US consulate to get your Visa stamped, I got my twice in Canada, once in Dublin, once in London, most times I was travelling on business, I know if there is somethging wrong my company and the lawer will be there. It depends on your company, I guess...

My employer had sent my H-1 application in May first week, but he didn't even receive the EAC number till last week. So, he re-filed my H-1, this time by premium processing and its been a week, and still no EAC number. Is anyone having the same delays as me? If so, is there any way to contact someone or get the status of my application? Looking for an urgent response. Thanks,

But, there was no significant change in visa policy. "We continue to issue H1B visas with little more scrutiny," Keur said.
He said that, at the same time, the US government has framed a policy for the companies to give preference to native Americans in employment.
Obama administration has taken up a practical approach in establishing relations with the countries while there were efforts in strengthening relations with India because of the "Brain Borrowing", he said.
Keur said there are 3 million Indians in the US who are contributing to its prosperity specially mentioning about the Andhraites who marked their presence in various fields in the US including IT.
Keur said the Hyderabad Consulate, the fourth in the country was established due to the growing trade and development in the state in the IT, biotechnology and pharma sectors."

hi my wife had filed 485 on aug 2nd, we got the receipts aug 23rd monday.

Just came accross this site. Not sure how accurate the data is, but looks like so far from 2002 there are only 701413 total pending 485 cases. I guess majority of those would be non employment based. Any one seen this data? Is this accurate?

No, you can not work on 1099 for any other company.
Yes, the only option is work on cash.

Can i work for another company...without transferring my H1 and can i get a 1099 Misc....( they cannot run my payroll as i wont be employed with them)....the work is in the same field...
if 1099 is not feasible.. the only option is to get paid in cash..which i dont want to do..

My I140 was originally filed at California service center, on 3/24/2006 it was transferred to Texas service center.

My H1-B was approved in octubre 2008, I would like to go to my home country but i don't have a visa to be able to come back.
