Pictures That Inspires Me Today

When they say pictures speak a thousand words, I never once doubt it.

Its been a while since I got inspired by something, or do something inspirational. Well, maybe blogging is counted as one, or Youtubing, but doing something much more soul searching like meditation or painting or singing (WTF!?) is way off my list

Has it ever occur to you that once you start on something, you can't seem to stop doing it. You'll just continue doing it until you get fed up with it. That's me right now

I think its something gotta do with the homones that we people tend to have different emotions and temperaments, some on the slower side, some on the fiesty side, its just all too fascinating deciphering them.

Aaahhh, procrastinating seems like a good option when you're too cowardly to start a huge project. Take it step by step, complete A 1st before ever skipping to B, this way, you''ll feel like you're more in control.

Did I ever tell you guys that I'm going to Paris during Summer Time May?? I am so looking forward to be in another foreign country. I don't want this year to be duller than last year (Imagine travelling to 5 countries in 2010 is just too exciting)

Ooo, every gals has to have dreams... A fairy tale prince, a princessy dress and golden carriage to sweep our feet off the ground and live happily ever after. All too good to be true ^_^

Definitely pluck your courage and move forward. Don't you even try to look back and agonize over something that has been the past and you can't even change. Just start being best starting from now on.

I think I need to retreat to my little spot of relaxation and sip a cup of earl grey tea and take it slow. One step at a time babe.

Preventing Pimples and Spots

I am in such a distress state that pimples are practically popping out all over my face. Its a totally tragic and hideous sight. Oh, I just wish that its just some pre-menstrual hormone-imbalance phenomenon thingy kicking in instead of something's wrong with my body.

So, I was casually browsing through the internet for remedies and cures when I found this blogger, Liparazzi, (thanks for the tips ^_^) sharing her ways for dealing with this atrocity.

Therefore, I'm going to just QUOTE whatever she writes, so no originality here. And I think that her ways are very down-to-earth and sounds effective, might as well give it a try.

"It's important to keep pores clear by exfoliating regularly, followed by a product which will help peel away blackheads (something like Biore strips are good if you get alot of blackheads). Also, you should be looking for medicated products containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.  The Origins Brighter By Nature range is fantastic and so is the more affordable Neutrogena Visibly Clear range.

I find it's best to keep your hair away from your face if you tend to wear alot of products in it, especially with things like hair wax. The more your hair is in contact with the skin on your face, the more chance you will get breakouts from the residues clogging your pores.

I find that Tea Tree antisceptic oil (which you can get in any chemist) is really effective at clearing up spots if applied with a cotton bud/cue tip on the blemish before I go to bed. This then dries out the impurities and will reduce the swelling.

Another simple tip is to make sure you are washing your bedding regularly. I know this seems like an obvious one but some people only change their bedding every 2 weeks, which isn't really enough given all the dead skin cells that collect on your sheets (yeah I know...gross!). This is especially important if you apply rich, heavy moisturisers before bed and/or fake tan. I change my bedding every week to ensure my skin isn't getting clogged by any product that has rubbed off from previous nights.

If you suddenly start getting spots on your face, try to think if you have changed anything in your routine, such as a new moisturiser, cleanser or foundation. You can generally narrow it down to one product that may be irritating your skin.

Wash your makeup brushes regularly, especially your foundation, powder, bronzer, blush and highlighter brushes. This will prevent a build up of bacteria on them which of course would cause more blemishes.

I know I keep bleeting on about the aspirin mask but I'm such a HUGE advocate for it. It's so cheap...it costs like 15p to get a box of uncoated aspirin tablets. Just by doing this mask once a week, you will notice your skin will be so clear and refined.

There are different underlying reasons as to why you get spots on certain areas of your face:

Mouth/Chin - If you are getting spots very close to your lips/mouth and the skin can look red and bumpy, then this can be due to perioral dermatitis which is a common problem. Some people mistake this for eczema and the over-the-counter creams for this can worsen the problem. If you think you have this, then read into a little more on the net and seek medical advice from your doctor. If you are just getting cystic blemishes/acne around the mouth then this can be a common symptoms of PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), which affects many women. Once again, please seek medical advice from your doctor if you suspect you may have this. We all know that spots appear just before/at that that time of the month so this is just a normal hormonal occurance unfortunately.

Neck - If you find you are getting alot of breakouts on your neck and jaw line, this can be an indicator that your adrenal glands are in overdrive, and can be stress related. Acne tends to be painful here so you definitely tell the difference between that and normal blemishes. Painful spots on the jawline can also suggest problems with your teeth so please check with your dentist if you're getting reoccuring breakouts in this area. Normal blemishes on your neck and jawline can just be bacteria transferred onto your skin from your mobile phone. You know how it goes...you're wearing foundation, it rubs off on your mobile, then bacteria builds up. So, I regularly rub down my mobile with an antibacterial wipe.

Forehead - Consider whether your conditioner is possibly irritating your skin on your forehead or whether it could be a hair product used in your fringe/bangs. Wearing the same hat all the time without washing it can also cause spots here too. Blemishes on the forehead can be an indicator that your body is having digestive problems or trouble breaking down toxins so it's a good idea to drink lots of water and drinks that will help to flush toxins out of your system like Green Tea with Lemon. These all seem like really basic things but sometimes you don't think about them.

Cheeks - Blemishes here can be caused by stress, stomach problems, a high sugar diet, possibly a blush product that aggravates your skin or a dirty mobile phone as mentioned above. Also, try to avoid touching your face too much during the day or resting your face in your hands alot. Hands pick up alot of bacteria and so this will transfer to the skin on your face and possibly cause or worsen existing blemishes."

I Need to Start Loving Myself

Love your best feature. Instead of focusing on the body part you hate, why not emphasize the one that you love? If you hate your nose but love your lips, why not experiment with bright and bold lip colors to show them off? Same with your body – if you love one body part more than the rest, emphasize them and dress them up.

Ban all negative body talk. Make it a point to you and your group of friends to ban negative body talk – whether it’s complaining about your weight or gossiping about someone else – both are as horrible as each other and I recommend to stop it! Anytime you or someone else even starts, don’t worry about coming across rude – just tell them to stop.

Accept people of all sizes. Never make comments about other people’s size! Just like eye colors and heights, people come in different shapes and sizes. Learn to accept it and stop judging others or yourself. If everyone looked the same this planet would be extremely boring, don’t you think?

Stop comparing yourself to others. You will always find someone who has better curves, is thinner, is taller… Stop it! This obsessive comparison is the same as worrying: gives you something to do, but nothing comes out of it: It is completely useless. You will always find someone in life who is older and ahead of whatever you are pursuing, so this obsession is not only useless, it will also never end. Concentrate on ending all envy, jealously and comparison to others now.

Treat yourself with respect as you would others. You wouldn’t go up to someone and accuse them of being anorexic, or call them fat, would you? Why would you call yourself that, then? Don’t you respect yourself just as much?

Put down the magazines and unrealistic images if you cannot handle it. You really don’t need that crap - the images end up setting unachievable standards, because they are not even real! Luckily, most magazines are starting to accept – and celebrate – all shapes and sizes.

Be thankful. So you like to complain about your fat belly? Why not be thankful you are privileged enough to have food in your stomach every night? Hate your ‘flabby’ arms? Why not be thankful that you actually have arms, while other people our age around the world may lose them in the war?

Find a role model. Look at Scarlett Johanssen, considered to be one of the hottest women in the world – is she a size 0? Hell no! And who cares? She looks great, just the way she is and she embraces it! And so should you.

Build your self esteem. One of the best things you can do is learn to accept and love yourself – because you are unique, and should celebrate that instead of hiding it.

7 Ways to Balance Your Life

Adopted from Temptalia, I think these tips are pretty useful to my life right now. Rock on it babeh!!
Schedule free time into your life. Don’t let yourself make excuses for why you aren’t hanging out with your honey, putting off that family dinner, or just not doing your favorite activity. It’s easy to put it off if you haven’t actually penciled in a time for it. Put it on your schedule so it becomes part of your day, part of your to-do list, in a sense. It may seem counterintuitive–planning your free time–but it’ll help you stick to your schedule.

Take 5 minutes before your start your day to pump YOU up. Before you start your day, tell yourself five good things about YOU. Compliment YOU. Then tell yourself five things you’re going to do today, whether it’s put makeup on, give your kids a kiss–pick five and then do them. Not only will you boost your self-confidence and start your day off on a positive note, but then you’ve created five mini-goals–and they’re as easy or difficult as you want them to be.

Get away from your desk/work. When possible, get out of your office, school, etc. for lunch or fifteen minute breaks. If the weather is nice, take a stroll around the building or away from it.

Re-read your favorite book. It’s important to spend time reading and enjoying things that aren’t required reading. If you’re not into books, try magazines, news articles, etc. instead. I always like to re-read my favorite books when I’m really busy with school reading, because I can just enjoy it–I know my favorite parts, I know the ending.

Take 5 minutes to de-stress before coming home. By coming home, I ultimately mean before you settle into your home, particularly if you live with others. Just take a few minutes to breathe and let go of any stress from the day. Your home is your sanctuary!

Go on vacation! Even if you can only afford to take a couple of days off from school/work, take them. And you don’t have to go to a ritzy resort if it’s not in your budget, either! You can have a stay-cation, too. Just spend the time relaxing, enjoying life, and not thinking about school/work, even if it’s just for a day or two.

Stop checking email in bed. This is something I’m terrible at not doing, but it can be so helpful. Sometimes you get action item emails before you go to bed, or you’ll see something that makes you jump out of bed as soon as you wake up… and before you know it, you’re not even doing what you’re supposed to be doing in bed–winding down or waking up.

Put pictures of things/people you love nearby your workspace. In your car, wallet, cubicle, office, computer, etc., keep a few photos of the people and things that are meaningful to you. Remember that you have a life outside of your school/work and those pictures will remind you every time you look at them.

Listen to Your Heart? Or to Your Brain?

Its kinda confusing whether to analyze each situation carefully and considerablly or just go with the feeling..

**sing: I gotta feeling... that tonight's gonna be a good night...**

-__-''' That was totally random.

Anyway, so, back to the topic. If something emergency pops up, and you are in need to make a decision. Which one will you go with? The one that keeps you sane with all the chemical reactions going on? Or the one which pumps the blood and make you filled with pain when you are upset?

Personally, and frequently, I usually go with the heart. It makes decision making much less painful and more of an enjoyment.

When you think too hard, you tend to lose track of what you are suppose to do and what should your ultimate focus be. But when you go with the gut feeling, almost always, they lead you to the right path and almost always, you will feel satisfied with your decision.

Well, that certainly is applicable to my case of course. I can still vividly remember the time when I took my SPM and I usually go with the the analyzed answer instead of the gut feeling answer, and of course, the answer that requires so much of my brain power somehow turn out to be wrong, 99% of the time.

That's why, sometimes, I kinda believe that all my hunches are correct and accurate. I wouldn't see myself otherwise. And sometimes, it turns out to be quite scary cuz when I'm having this gut feeling that something bad is going to happen, it usually turns out that way.

Sooooo, my point is... Sometimes, its good to actually follow how you feel instead of cracking your head to come up with some brilliant idea. The fact is, there is no such thing as the perfect solution or the most well-thought-out notion, cuz we are all humans (even Einstein's IQ is worth 160), and humans are not GOD that have THE ANSWER to all the question, especially, the correct answer. Further, the difference between a human and an animal is that we have feeling.

So why not utilize that feeling (that the Creator had given us) to its maximum and do something for a change this instance? You certainly can feel the difference of the satisfaction that you are able to receive for once if you go with that feeling lurking behind (aka gut feeling). But remember, don't try this method when you have the urge to have sex with someone forbidden, cuz in this case, rationality is needed in this case.

10 Rules for Brilliant Women

Adapted from one of the articles from Tara Sophia Mohr, I was totally intrigued by this piece of holy grail. I so wanted to start incorporating like part of these wisdom into my life cuz I wanna be a super wonderwoman and make Yoong go crazy over me.

So here are the pointers that she shared:

1. Make a pact: No one else is going to build the life you want for you. No one else will even be able to completely understand it. The most amazing souls will show up to cheer you on along the way, but this is your game. Make a pact to be in it with yourself for the long haul, as your own supportive friend at every step along the way.

2. Imagine it: What does a knock-the-ball-out-of-the-park life look like for you? What is the career that seems so incredible you think it's almost criminal to have it? What is the dream you don't allow yourself to even consider because it seems too unrealistic, frivolous, or insane? Start envisioning it. That's the beginning of having it.

3. Suppress your inner critic: Start doing things that make you gasp and get the adrenalin flowing. Ask yourself, "What's the gasp-level action here?" Your fears and a tough inner critic will chatter in your head. That's normal, and just fine. When you hear that repetitive, irrational, mean inner critic, name it for what it is, and remember, it's just a fearful liar, trying to protect you from any real or seeming risks. Go for the gasps and learn how false your inner critic's narrative really is, and how conquerable your fears.

4. Get a thick skin: If you take risks, sometimes you'll get a standing ovation, and sometimes, people will throw tomatoes. Can you think of any leader or innovator whom you admire who doesn't have enthusiastic fans and harsh critics? Get used to wins and losses, praise and pans, getting a call back and being ignored. Work on letting go of needing to be liked and needing to be universally known as "a nice person."

5. Be an arrogant idiot: Of course I know you won't, because you never could. But please, just be a little more of an arrogant idiot. You know those guys around the office who share their opinions without thinking, who rally everyone around their big, (often unformed) ideas? Be more like them. Even if just a bit. You can afford to move a few inches in that direction.

6. Question the voice that says "I'm not ready": Because you are so brilliant and have such high standards, you see every way that you could be more qualified. You notice every part of your idea that is not perfected yet. While you are waiting to be ready, gathering more experience, sitting on your ideas, our friends referenced in rule five are being anointed industry visionaries, getting raises, and seeing their ideas come to life in the world. They are no more ready than you, and perhaps less. Jump in the sandbox now, and start playing full out. Find out just how ready you are.

7. Don't wait for your Oscar: Don't wait to be praised, anointed, or validated. Don't wait for someone to give you permission to lead. Don't wait for someone to invite you to share your voice. No one is going to discover you. (Well, actually, they will, but paradoxically, only after you've started boldly and consistently stepping into leadership, sharing your voice, and doing things that scare the hell out of you.)

8. Filter advice: Most brilliant women are humble and open to guidance. We want to gather feedback and advice. Fine, but recognize that some people won't understand what you are up to (often because you are saying something new and ahead of your time). Some people will find you to be not their cup of tea. Some will feel threatened. Some people will want to do with your idea only what is interesting or helpful to them. So interpret feedback carefully. Test advice and evaluate the results, rather than following it wholesale.

9. Recover and restore: If you start doing the things that make you gasp, doing what you don't quite feel ready to do, and being more of an arrogant idiot, you are going to be stretching out of our comfort zone--a lot. Regularly do things that feel safe, cozy, and restorative. Vent to friends when you need to. Acknowledge the steps you've taken. Watch your tank to see how much risk-taking juice you have available to you. When it's running low, stop, recover and restore.

10. Let other woman know that they are brilliant: Let them know what kind of brilliance you see, and why it's so special. Call them into greater leadership and action. Let them know that they are ready. Watch out for that subtle, probably unconscious thought, "because I had to struggle and suffer on my way up...they should have to too." Watch out for thinking this will "take" too much time - when the truth is it always has huge, often unexpected returns.

So, if you are interested, you could start implementing them now. I am going to start from now. Have to have much more confidence in myself. And if you are a guy that happen to stumble across this post, maybe you could nip a thing or two too.^__^

How To Apply Makeup?

Advice from The Goss Makeup Artist, and I'm trying to follow every step of it.

1. Apply Primer or moisturiser to the face. It is not necessary to apply both.
2. Pencil in the eyebrows.
3. Apply a primer or eye base to the eyelid (optional). I tend to favour either MAC paint pots or Nars Eye Primer.
4. Apply the highlighter shadow (lightest) the the eyelid and brow bone.
Apply the midtown shadow (middle shade - usually matte in tone) to the crease of the eye, bringing it to    the nose bone.
Apply the contour shade (darkest of the three shadows) along the upper outer lash line and upper crease.
5. Curl lashes and apply a VERY thin coat of mascara.
6. Clean up any fallout you may have from eyeshadow application.
7. Highlighting and contouring is applied now. This step is optional.
8. Apply foundation. Your choice of product.
9. Apply corrector/concealer under the eye.
10. Set with powder (unless using a cream blush).
11. Use a q-tip under the eye to make sure not powder has collected into any lines.
12. Apply bronzer to the face (optional - but not recommend for very fair skin tones)
13. Apply blush to the cheek bones.
14. Apply any shimmer highlighter to the face. Cheek bones, bridge of the nose, etc...
15. Curl the lashes and apply a full coat of mascara.
16. Line and fill in the entire lip with a lip pencil.
17. Highlight the cupids bow (optional)
Apply concealer to the bottom of the lip (unless already full). Press lips together.
18. Apply concealer to the bottom of the lip (unless already full). Press lips together.
19. Apply lipstick. The concealer with act as a highlighter and give fullness to the lips.
20. Apply lip gloss to the bottom lip only and press lips together.

I hope this helps!! ^__^ Well, more of a guidance for myself ;p

How I'm Currently Fighting Against Hair Fallouts.

Its been dreadful for the pass few weeks. If you had follow me on twitter or facebook, you know that my hair was falling in large amounts and I was scared till death. I mean, I don't wanna go BALD when I'm in my twenties.. Hello!!!???? I don't think my boyfriend and family would approve of that.

So, the desperate me googled some info and came across with some methods. I'm currently incorporating them into my life now and so far, its working pretty well for me. So I'd decided to save some of you guys out there but sharing with you my way of keeping my hair on my head.

(Remember, we shed 50-60 strands of hair daily, so if you are with me, say, 70++ of hair coming off, you could try these methods, the easiest way to count is when you are washing you hair, how many strands of hair do you pull out/came off. If its more than 10, then your alarm should start ringing in your head)

Ways to Prevent Excess Hair Fallouts.

1. Take Vitamin B or Multivitamins. (Newly incorporated routine which works tremendously well)

2. Destress. I listen to music and blog and youtube. These makes me relax. Oh yeah, not forgetting shopping for makeup too ^__^ (Newly incorporated routine which works tremendously well)

3. Sleep for at least 7 hours per day. (Newly incorporated routine which works tremendously)

4. Tie my hair in loose buns.

5. Flip my hair up whenever I'm sleeping. Sleep lying on my back.

6. Discipline my hands to not touch my hair whatsoever. (Newly incorporated routine which works tremendously)

7. Never once did I comb my hair after washing it.

8. If I can, I won't wash my hair once per week giving it some rest from chemicals like shampoo.

9. If using harsh shampoo like Lush Big Shampoo, I would massage my head really really gently.

10. I don't ever use my fingernails to scrub my scalp.

I Wanna Be Happy Again

Recently, I did a survey, and the survey was asking questions about the level of happiness that I'm going through in my life, and sadly, after finishing the questionnaire, I realized that I'd ticked mostly "disagree" when the question is "Are you happy with...?"

Am I becoming a sadist (in the sad way) or a pessismist? Or is it that I'm truely not satisfied with the way my current life is...??

And I do think I have a mental problem, not that serious as to commit suicide or hurt myself, I found myself totally not looking forward to the future me. Its like, I wanna live life as it is, no future planning, no dreams, no goal, just purely living like a zombie, pass day as it is, no motivation or enthusiasm or whatsoever to push myself, its like, I'm totally, AIMLESS.

I'm not happy with so many things in life, maybe I'm too picky when it comes to the level of happiness, I just can't appreciate what I'm having/doing now. Relationships, emotional state, job, money, physical health, hobby, life...The list never seems to wanna end. I am just so so lethargic in even writing this post.

Its a competitve world, I know, and its my own state of mind that blows the whistle to start this abstract-shadowy race of endless competitors, and I always kinda lose out in every competition. Being pretty, being slim, raking in money, jobs, blogging, wisdom... Oh my God, I'm so so annoying.

People would tell me how lucky I am to have what I'm having now. I know, compared to those handicapped or Tsunami victims or those African salvagers, I'm like 150% more lucky than them and I should appreciate what I'm having now. But please lah, don't lecture me on this again cuz no human being would ever compare themselves with those unfortunate. We are more prone to only have our eyes on those that are richer, prettier, slimmer, happier, perfect grammer...

So the reason of my unhappiness??? Still unknown...

I have to find the source of all my distress-ness or I'll go crazy in no time...

**googling How To Find Happiness**

And here's the summary of WAYS TO OBTAIN HAPPINESS:

  • The lens you choose to view everything through determines how you will interpret what is happening. Happiness is a State of Mind.

  • Focus on the present, not yesterday or tomorrow. You only have now. And now. And now. Yesterday is a memory and you cannot change it. Tomorrow is just a fantasy in your mind right now.

  • Don’t forget to be grateful. A few things you can feel gratitude for are for instance: The sunshine and the weather. Your roof. Your health. A good TV-show, a movie or a song. Your friends, family, co-workers and just about anyone walking down the street.

  • Help someone else find happiness.

  • Get rid of a couple of your less valuable desires. If you throw away a few of those desires that you may not really want or need that much anyway you’ll probably start to feel less stressed and worried.

  • Create moments of happiness. Do what you like to do. You may not be able to choose to do what you want to do right now. Or for many hours each day or week. But you almost always have a choice to do more of what you really want to do. Give it the top priority. Let nothing distract you from it. Pay attention to how you feel during this experience and let happiness come. Live in that moment of happiness. Relive the moment again later. Journal it. Remember it.

  • Or at least do something. Action may not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action.

  • Treat yourself like your favorite child. The caring, the attention, the concern that you would give a small child, give that same attention to yourself. Put good food on your plate at regular times. Listen to your inner voice. Set up regular times for exercise, reading and sleep, and discipline yourself to keep that schedule. Make sure you meet friends, take care of your health, and practice moderation.

  • Clear out unhappiness. Find someone you can talk to about your feelings. Avoid things that make you unhappy. See less of unpleasant people whenever possible. Talk less and dwell less on your difficulties. Do not gossip or complain or envy others. If a problem is dragging you down, solve it or deal with it; put it behind you as soon as you can.

  • Embrace happiness. Happiness is contagious. You can catch happiness just by talking to happy people. Read books with a happy outlook. Listen to pleasant music with an easy tempo. Sing along or hum if you don't know the words. Develop a friendship with a cheerful person. Spend time dancing to music. Stretch often. Exercise often. Tell yourself jokes. Practice positive thinking.

  • Simplify!

  • Be spontaneous. Take the opportunity to enjoy life as it happens. Be curious about life. Be inquisitive. Be amazed. Be amused. Make it your New Year's resolution to try new things. Better yet, don't wait until the New Year to make your resolution.

  • Savor the simple pleasures.

  • Give up some control. No matter how much we plan, we can never predict what the future will bring. Instead of attempting to control the outcome of events, learn to relax and enjoy the journey. Letting go of the need to control will give you more freedom to live in the moment.

I really wish I could laugh like that again and stop worrying about so many thing or being unsatisfied with whatever current situation I'm in.

And at the time being...

Retail shopping you say?? Maybe that would help... But I'll be guilty and sad again once I check the depleting amount of my bank account. So, I think I'll need to skip that.

Meditation you say?? Yeah, maybe that would help...

Going for a tour you say?? Maybe that would help... But I'll afraid with arguing with my boyfriend while we are on the trip and I hate that. But this would be in the KIV list.

Grab some good food you say?? Maybe that would help... Need to start choosing some fancy restaurant but Yoong isn't free to accompany me to savour them.

Argh...

You see lah... I'm totally a SADIST (in a sad way).

How To Prevent Hair Loss

I am definitely having a problem with my hair which is constantly falling at an unusual rate. Not the normal, you know, 50 strands per day type, which I think about 15 strands of hair would fall off whenever I wash my hair.

And its really un-nerving, if I might say because I don't wanna end up a baldy old lady which I couldn't even use a hair pin T__T

Therefore, its googling time...

5 natural steps to prevent hair loss (sorry, I can't remember from which site did I obtained this info)

1. Eat and drink Biotin
Biotin is a very essential vitamin that will aid in hair growth and you can get this in foods such as honey, milk and bananas. A great, healthy and tasty way to get biotin is to make a blended shake with these ingredients and yogurt.

2. Stop stress
Stress is one of the leaders for hair loss reasons and the least amount of stress you allow in your life the better for your hair. Get a stress ball, get a massage and do whatever you can to release all the stress from your life.

3. Massage scalp everytime
Massaging your head in the shower not only cleanses your scalp but it also increases the blood flow and circulation within your head. This is important as you age because circulation slows down the older you get and you should keep circulation in mind.

4. Sleep
Sleep cures a lot of problems and it is vital to keeping the entire body in sync and healthy. Your hair is only one of the things that will benefit from getting proper sleep (7 to 9 hours of sleep per night consistently).

5. Get Vitamin B in your diet and take supplement
Vitamin B is one of the most essential vitamins you can get and Vitamin B6 a key to healthy hair. If you don feel that you are getting enough Vitamin B in your foods everyday then you should look into getting a good vitamin supplement to go with your daily regimen.

Swine Flu (H1N1) Preventions

This is going to be long and windy post about steps of precautions towards the now very popular and deadly swine flu. I just feel the need to post this up instead of my daily outfit of the day post. Therefore, after a little research, here's the list to block those virus out from our system.

1. Wear mask in those highly contaminated areas or those high risk areas of inffection such as public transport and the lift... The mask should cover up your nose and down towards your chin. This will block particals such as droplets from saliva or bogey from your nose. It is encouragable that the one who's having flu should wear it.

2. Always wash your hands 1st before rubbing your eyes. This is because the most probable place of the entire body of getting the infection is the eyes, nose and ears. These are the areas where the skin doesn't protect them. Fluid from these areas would bring the virus into our system and therefore, if one's antibody is not strong enough, they will succumb to the sickness.

3. Kissing. No kissing should be allowed with any infected person, be it normal flu or swine flu. The exchange of fluid/saliva could definitely means transfering virus to each and another. Even a peck on the mouth is also unadvisable.

4. Wash your hands with soap when you return home. Remember the term: Wet, Scrub, Rinse, Cup, Dry. Wet - wet your hands thoroughly, scrub - scrub your hands with soap for the duration of 2 happy birthday songs and remember to scrub each and every corner of the hands especially the finger tips and the palm, rinse - rinse your hand till its soap free, cup - cup some water onto your hands and rinse the tap several times, this would ensure that the tap is clean from contamination too, dry - dry your hands.
********************************************************************************
5. H1N1 is a deadly virus and a way to kill it is through alcohol. 60% of alcohol based liquids could kill them and therefore, you could buy alcoholic wipes to wipe your hands. If you want to use them to wash your hands, 1st buy a 95% alcohol liquid from any pharmacy or chemist store, and add in water. The ratio would be 2:1, 200cc alcohol to 100cc water. Put it in a spray or dispenser and you have your homemade anti-virus killer.
*********************************************************************************
6. To sanitize your home, don't use alcohol as the its quite expensive. Use bleach instead. The ratio would be 100:1, 1250cc water to 2 bottle cap of bleach. Wipe areas which are most touch by hands such as the door handle and the fridge.

7. Another way is to boost your antibody or immune system. This is the last protection that we have and is given by GOD so all we have to do is to make it stronger.
*******************************************************************************
a) Nurture yourself by enjoying being thyself, destress, think of all the happy things in life. As according to scientist, when one's stress, the risk of getting a flu would be higher due to the fact that the body resistant would decrease. So go ahead, enjoy those good things in life and learn any form of meditation to destress.

b) Have sufficient hours of sleep. At least 6-10 hours for adults.

c) Exercise regularly. No explaination needed here as everyone knows that exercising could help the body in many sorts of ways, be it prevention to cancer or flu.

d) Last but not least, essential vitamins and minerals from fruits and vegs to increase the body's immune system.
**********************************************************************************
There you go, just try to protect yourself from the virus, if you don't seem to care about preventions, because there had been death and nobody wants to die just yet, right??? Its better to be safe than sorry.
*******************************************************************************
p/s: Another important note, after doing several test and research, the scientist found out that the highest probability of one getting affected by the virus is through the nose. Therefore, just becareful when someone is sneezing nearby you.

Ways To Be More Confident.

1. Be good to myself and recognize my personal qualities and give myself credit.

2. Learn to appreciate life by writing good things that had happened into a journal.

3. Update my image (more shopping and self beautified spa, ^__^)

4. Put myself 1st by trying not to worry about other person's reaction.

5. Don't be afraid to take risks, act confident.

(source: Good Housekeeping)

The reason I'm writing this year is because I'm currently trying to find ways to find back my confidence as it had plummeted way below 50% and confidence is what I need during job hours and finding a new job.

Although, I'm more eloquent, compared to 2 months before, but I don't act as if as a individual who has just graduated and is currently happy with all the things in her life.

I realized this when I was with Yoong's friend. I'm always cowering at the back, waiting for Yoong to protect me and chat with me, shunting out his friends as if as they never exist and stuttered whenever I'm answering their question.

This is bad news of course. I can't be like that when I'm working. I need to be more myself by speaking clearly and acting my part as Cindy Khor, the enthusiast and full of energy and girl full of pride (that's what my school teacher told me).

Therefore, I'll try and heed the advice above and see if there's any changes. I just have to get out of my comfort zone and brave whatever comes in my way. I do think optimism is crucial here.

Do you know of a way to boost my confidence?? Do please help me here.

Ways to Keep Cool

As you had clearly notice from my previous entry, I had been like a valcano, errupting ever so suddenly and "passionately", using all sorts of foul words that my mum would frown and disapprove of...

In order to make myself calm down, I've tried all sorts of ways, and luckily they worked... Thus the calm and cool me now -_- (hopefully this will last for a few days).

There are several ways to make my temper subside which I force myself to comply (eehh...its very hard lah...especially when I'm in the midst of it)....

Ways to becoming a calmer you (or rather, me!!):

1. Kenny G songs... No, I don't mean youusing your last breath of energy blowing the saxaphone. Its listening to his songs... Its like really really soothing and it seems to have a magical sense of calming effect coming from the instrument. As one of the member of woodwind family, the music blown out really could be mind-blowing (okay, a vague pun intended).

2. No spicy food. If you are not into spicy food, then hurray, you save yourself a trouble. Some people won't get agitated after consuming spicy food but I guess, I'm one of the unlucky ones to get feverish ( you know, where the spiciness just numbs your tongue and you can't feel a thing and you start to get dizzy then you start to snap at every person talking to you wtf while sticking your tongue out like a dog -_- and wish that there's a big glass of icy Coke in front of you that instance??)....
But I do love spicy food so.... ummm... I haven't really been depending on this way to cool down

3. Meditate?? The question mark here is that I don't know how to meditate using the correct way so I went to check up some website and found this where it helps users throughout the process of contemplation which we should blank out our mind and listen to every sound it protudes ( you know, the regular birds chirping and water flowing sounds where a gal speaks solemnly and lowly??)...

You can find it at http://www.labyrinth.org.uk/onlinelabyrinthpage1.html if you wanna try it out. It does help a bit..

4. Sleep. Haha.. I think this is the best way that my temper could hurt nobody as I'm quiet as a lamb here -_- And I really do feel fresh after a nap and thus the valcano activity will subside subsequently.
5. Take a deep breath. When I'm finding myself going to explode with foul words and cursing like there's no hell, I will turn away from the source of fire and take a few deep breaths to cool down. Really works!!! And sometimes I would clench my fist tightly while breathing (I'm not getting ready to fight, k??)
I'm not sure whether they would work on you, but it did help me a lot... I do hope that I did not hurt anyone (yup, I mean you, Yoong) in the process of getting pissed off...

Ways To Sleep Better

As I've been having several sleepless and dreamful night (which isn't a good sign), I've decided to look up some info on how to sleep better.
  • Relax - Having a warm bath or massage before hitting the bed could really help open up the blood vessels and cool down your body to help your body tune into sleep mode. And don't touch the PS3 if you can help it...
  • Dim the lights - As watching TV or facing the laptop could keep you awake (something to do with it emitting some sort of light), its best not to do them 30 minutes before sleeping... Try reading the book or meditate instead. Off all lights and on the dim light (you know the Hello Kitty one where you plug into socket!!). This will definitely drowse your mind to sleep.
  • Healthy eating and exercise - Will I'm not going to explain the scientific theory behind the concept.. But I do know that exercising in the evening could really help in better sleeping as you get so tired from doing it and toss off to sleep once you touch bed.
  • Get the right alarm - It says here that we should get a dawn-simulator alarm clocks but I personally prefer my own handphone. And I really would choose those soothing songs to be my alarm tone (wonderful world by Micheal Buble) so that I won't jerk up to the sudden sound of "cockle-doodle-doo" which annoys me everytime.
  • Don't spent 20 minutes awake in bed - This will cause the body to associate bed with being awake. Just get up and do something else until the sleepiness comes... Wow... OK... I'm gonna heed this advice...
  • Try some herbal medication - I personally use St. John's Wort. Its not a guy -_- Its a supplement which will help in better sleeping routine, or so I'd heard.
  • Avoid taking naps in the afternoon - If sleeping in the afternoon is gonna break the sleeping pattern, then just forgo the afternoon naps. Thus the body would have the need to rest at night.
  • Avoid supper - Oh no...!!! I can't survive without my last meal of the day... Alright, I'll try to skip supper... Its somthing gotta to do with the stomach and intestine unable to rest... There's even a saying that if the body consumes food before bedtime, the person will more likely to have nightmare wtf -_-
There you go... A list to sleep better... Wish me luck in getting a good night rest tonight... I need them especially when my depressed emotions are looming nearby.
